Since 1989, Celso Pereira has been responsible for producing the Vertice wines. Being part of this venture from its very beginning he has participated in the pioneering experiences with Schramsberg that would give rise to the Vertice Sparkling Wines.

Celso graduated with a degree in agronomic engineering. He holds various postgraduate degrees in Portugal and Bordeaux as well as exchange programs at Schramsberg Vineyards (California) and Pierro Vineyards in Margaret River, Australia. He had previously worked in the laboratory of the Douro House and Winemaking study center of the Douro. Celso Pereira has published two works:

“A Comparative Study of Phenolic Unclorored Composites in Elementary White Wines (Códega and Gouveio) with vinification in stainless steel vats and oak barrels “
"The Influence of Grape Maturations Stages and Temperature during Fermentation in the Aroma of Elementary White Wines for the Vines Códega, Gouveio and Malvasia Fina”

Pedro Guedes has been an addition to the team alongside with Celso Pereira since 2002, the year he completed a degree in Enology at UTAD. In February and March 2005 he also went up to Pierro Vineyards to work with Michael Peterkin during the harvesting period. In 2006 he completed the postgraduate studies in Molecular Microbiology at the University of Aveiro, in which obtained the degree of Master. He has published the following studies:

"Influence of different pumping cycles in the extraction of coloring matter in red wines of the year."; and
"In silico analysis of the transposases ISL3 family."
