6-10-2017 A New Record
BORN IN THE GRANITIC SOILS OF THE "ALTO DOURO" for the desire to produce sparkling wines that express the region's unique terroir, the Vértice brand stands at the top, largely due to the alliance between the classic tradition of natural sparkling wines and the oldest wine region in the world, which it gives its consistency in quality. This time, for the second consecutive year, Mark Squires, the North American critic and official taster of the eRobert Parker / Wine Advocate publication, highlights sparkling Vértice. Now the attention has been paid to the second edition of Vértice Pinot Noir 2007 - the first harvest of 2006 was presented in 2014 -, which won 94 points, the highest ever score among Portuguese sparkling wines. Mark Squires defines the wine as "elegant and complex," classifying it as a "delicious and very serious" sparkling wine.

1-12-2016 Wine Enthusiast Editor’s Choice – Caves Transmontanas Vértice Cuvée NV - 90 Points
A combination of two years and eight grapes, this wine comes from the cooler plateau above the north bank of the Douro. With its bright crisp acidity and touch of toast from barrel aging, it is a wine that is balanced well between lively fruit and a more serious visage. Drink this wine now.

The already famous sparkling Vértice Cuvée has a new feature in its latest edition. Unlike the previous editions, this one does not exhibit a vintage year. A failure? None of that. It was strategic and, we dare to say, it was very well done. Now here’s why...

Portugal's white wines surge in quality as vintners exploit older vineyards in the Douro and beyond.
Portugal's Douro River Valley contains an amazing mix of terroirs where native grapes have adapted to searing summer heat to produce world-class red table wines. And when it comes to making intensely flavorful and concentrated Ports in the deepest reaches of the Douro gorge, the hotter the better.

The winemaker Celso Pereira confirms. For this reason, he formed a trilogy and drew a sparkling whose production increased in the classical methods of Champagne. The name is Vertice Cuvée non vintage, a sparkling from Caves Transmontanas produced in the Douro that meets the 2009 harvest, 2010 and 2011, considered the best years for Celso Pereira, the winemaker, who led the three crops a traineeship in stainless steel vats and French oak barrels used. Then made them go through a stage in the bottle that was beyond the three years, which ended with the disgorging (consists of removing the capsule and the deposit - which is in contact with the neck, because the bottles are placed "head "down - simultaneously and once) in the end of 2015. Thus was born a sparkling who wanted versatile because both can serve as appetizer in a celebratory or a special occasion meal, as recommended to accompany fish dishes or poultry, and at the right temperature. We recall that the Vertice was born in 1989 in the most climactic slopes located more than 550 meters of Cima Corgo, one of the sub-regions of the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, and in the genesis of the traditional method of French sparkling – the méthode champenoise. Let's drink!

Portuguese Espumante: Vertice
Portuguese sparkling wines are super on trend right now and will be the perfect choice to serve to impress both your most esoteric wine-loving friend and casual drinker alike. Vertice from Portugal’s Douro region is a great example of some of Portugal’s top tier sparkling wines. Picked from grapes grown on high altitude terraces along the Douro river, Vertice is then produced in the classic champagnoise methods and aged in bottle. Go traditional with their champagne made from chardonnay and pinot noir grapes, or more inventive, with one of their bottles made from Portuguese indigenous varietals for something fresh and new.Brides Magazine – Forget Champagne! 6 Trendy Sparkling Wines to Serve at Your Wedding | By Hillary Eaton
